What is Joy-Filled Wandering?

It's different for each family-each person.

What brings you joy? For our family, joy comes in many forms. It's cuddling on a rainy day. It's the celebration that happens when your child reads their first story. It's the sweet emotion that comes from hearing your children sing in worship to our Savior.

It could be chasing waterfalls. It could be finding all the best coffee shops when you travel. Hiking, kayaking, learning a new craft or language...the activity isn't the point. It's the journey. The adventure.

Now, when I saw adventure, it's ok for it to be small. Sometimes our backyard is all the adventure we can manage for the day.

Over the last two years, joy-filled wandering has been getting out into nature and relishing in God's beautiful artwork. Simply walking in the woods behind our house or going to a local Forest School for a hike.

Marveling at the colored leaves in Autumn.

Finding mushrooms after a night of heavy rain.

The excitement of jumping into puddles.

Sand between our toes.

Knowing that God created everything we see and feeling a sense of humbleness that He created us with the same intricacies as a tree. We come alive outside. We find ourselves in the breezes between the leaves. Restoration happens like the newness of Spring. Our hearts are filled with love and a longing to know more.

Our souls are filled with joy.

Take time to wander. Get outside and find what makes you want to get lost in the details of God's love. Because His love is shown in each and every detail.

Better Watch Out

This is going to be a different kind of book review. I could rave about this book for all the things that made it such a wonderful Christmas...
